Where two surfaces meet the transition must be smooth, with a design transition of 0 mm; construction tolerance is 0 plus or minus 3 mm vertically, or 0 plus or minus 5 mm where the edge is bevelled or rounded to reduce tripping. The predecessor also sets tolerances for raked-joint pavers and applies the same limits to any vertical change of up to 5 mm along the path.
