Aged Care Infection Prevention and Control Guide (2024) p-ppe: Select and use PPE according to risk and the precautions in force

PPE such as gloves, gowns, aprons, masks, eye protection and face shields is chosen for the risk of the task and the precautions in force: gown and gloves for contact precautions, surgical mask with eye or face protection for respiratory precautions, all of these for combined precautions. A particulate filter respirator is used only in unusual higher risk situations and after consulting the IPC lead.
