What does s48-52 require?

A person prescribed by regulation for a substance, and the pharmacist managing a community pharmacy that keeps controlled medicines, must keep a register (s 48). It must be kept as the regulation prescribes and at any prescribed place (fault offences at 100 penalty units, 1 year or both, with strict liability versions at 50 penalty units) (ss 49, 50). The register holder must ensure the prescribed details of each dealing by them or their staff are entered as soon as practicable and within 24 hours (s 51), and whoever makes an entry must sign it within 24 hours (s 52) (strict liability, 50 penalty units each).
