The disclosure objective drives the level of detail: the entity aggregates or disaggregates so that significant information is neither buried in detail nor obscured by aggregation, and need not repeat information already given under another Standard. It discloses revenue from customer contracts separately from other revenue and impairment losses on receivables and contract assets from customer contracts separately from other impairments, unless presented separately on the face of the statement of comprehensive income. Revenue is disaggregated into categories that show how economic factors affect its nature, amount, timing and uncertainty, chosen with regard to how revenue is presented elsewhere (investor presentations, segment reporting, management information) and using categories such as product or service type, geography, market or customer type, contract type, duration, timing of transfer and sales channel; the relationship to segment revenue under AASB 8 is explained.
