Whether an item is impaired, how recoverable amount is determined and when an impairment loss is recognised or reversed are all governed by AASB 136. Compensation from third parties (insurers, governments, counterparties) for items impaired, lost or surrendered is recognised in profit or loss once it becomes receivable, not at the time of the loss. Four events are kept apart: the impairment under AASB 136, the derecognition of the item retired or disposed of under this Standard, the compensation recognised once receivable, and the cost of the restored, purchased or constructed replacement measured under this Standard.
The graph holds this control, the 0 it maps to, and the evidence behind each claim, over MCP and REST.
