AASB 107 Statement of Cash Flows 39-42B: Present the cash effects of obtaining or losing control of businesses separately as investing, net of cash acquired or disposed, with the four aggregate disclosures, and classify other ownership changes in subsidiaries as financing

What does 39-42B require?

The total cash paid or received when control of a subsidiary or other business is gained or lost is shown as a separate investing line, reported net of the cash and cash equivalents held by the business acquired or disposed of, and the effects of acquisitions are not offset against disposals. For each of obtaining and losing control the entity discloses in aggregate the total consideration, the portion settled in cash and cash equivalents, the cash and cash equivalents held by the businesses concerned, and the other assets and liabilities taken on or given up, by major category; an AASB 10 investment entity need not give the last two items for a subsidiary it carries at fair value with changes in profit or loss. Cash flows from changes in a parent's interest in a subsidiary that leave control intact are equity transactions under AASB 10 and are classified as financing, unless an investment entity holds the subsidiary and carries it at fair value with changes in profit or loss.
