AASB 10 Consolidated Financial Statements
Investment entities: status and the exception to consolidation (paragraphs 27 to 33, B85A to B85W, B100 and B101) – AASB 10 Consolidated Financial Statements

AASB 10 Consolidated Financial Statements B100-B101: Change in investment entity status: on ceasing to be one, treat the date as a deemed acquisition of each fair-valued subsidiary under AASB 3 using fair value as deemed consideration; on becoming one, stop consolidating at that date and apply the loss of control requirements

What does B100-B101 require?

If an entity stops being an investment entity, each subsidiary it carried at fair value is brought into the group as though acquired on the date of the change, with its fair value then serving as the deemed consideration for goodwill or bargain purchase calculations, and all subsidiaries are consolidated from that date. An entity that turns into an investment entity stops consolidating its subsidiaries from that date (except service subsidiaries that remain consolidated) and accounts for them under the loss of control paragraphs as though control had been lost then.
