AASB 1 First-time Adoption of Australian Accounting Standards
Mandatory exceptions to retrospective application (paragraphs 13 to 17 and Appendix B) – AASB 1 First-time Adoption of Australian Accounting Standards

AASB 1 First-time Adoption of Australian Accounting Standards B9: Assess whether an embedded derivative must be separated on the conditions at the later of contract inception and the last reassessment date

What does B9 require?

A first-time adopter decides whether an embedded derivative is split from its host, and if so how it is measured, by reference to the conditions that existed when the entity first became party to the contract or, if later, the date on which AASB 9 requires a reassessment. The analysis is not redone on transition-date conditions.
